Water Bottles
I was considering the water bottles on this page. I would greatly appreciate any comments.
http://www.wisementrading.com/water/filterbottles.htm Also, I am also planning on having bottled water delivered in those 5 gallon bottles and not drinking it to build up a supply. Thanks for any suggestions in advance. |
Re: Water Bottles
Don't have it delivered, find a place that sells by the gallon, as low as $0.35 in most areas. The filter you linked to probably works well but I would try a water filter store 1st. They have rugged versions of the bottle that are less fancy but do the same thing.
Without revealing too much, I have a pretty close personal connection to the water filtration business... |
Re: Water Bottles
I bought the Berkey Sport - I like it although it is a bit more expensive than that one.
As far as bottled water - worked for Poland Spring for 5 years. The lexan bottles are good, they also make good storage containers for rice, beans, etc. The weak link in the system is the bottle before the fill. There were plenty of times that I picked up bottles that had gasoline, mold, paint, etc in the bottle that was being returned. A lot of the time, I'd catch it but I'm sure there were times that I wouldn't (or any other route drivers wouldn't). That bottle goes to a cleaning station that uses high pressure and a mild cleanser to wash it out. Sometimes customers would call and say that there were objects or there was a funny taste to the water, often it got swept under the rug, they got some free bottles and that was the end of it. Best thing to do, try to get some new (newer) bottles with caps, clean them and fill them yourself from your own filter. Even if you buy the full bottles, check the water, then reseal. The last thing you want is to open the bottle when you need it and find that it smells like gasoline or something else. Personally, I have about 10 of these bottles, they are great. |
